Description
In this rigorous singlevariable Calculus class, students start off with calculus! The review of precalculus occurs at various points when it’s needed.
The text combines graphingcalculator technology with a unique, realworld application approach, and presents calculus as a study of just four fundamental concepts: limits, derivatives, definite integrals, and indefinite integrals. Students learn these concepts using algebraic, numerical, graphical, and verbal approaches. As a result, students with a wider range of abilities can be successful in calculus, not just those who are strong in algebra. The use of technology to help solve some of the problems, experiment, interpret results, support student conclusions is included.
Class will meet in person once each week; additional lectures will be available online. Students may "attend" these lectures or they may view them at their conveniences; students are responsible for the material covered during these sessions.
This course will prepare the diligent student for the AP Calculus AB exam. Fees for the exams are not included in the course costs.
Prerequisites: Students must have completed preCalculus and/or Calculus A or their equivalent. Contact instructor for questions on your student's readiness.
Religious Content: None
