Elementary students (Prek - 5th grade) learn about empathy and caring for and giving to others as they create art for "good". Some of their art pieces will go home, but students will also be encouraged to select the "best ones" to be auctioned off or sold to raise money for a worthy cause.
Teacher-guided discussions, activities, and games, designed to let the kids "walk in another's shoes", will lead the students to decide what charitable organization(s) will benefit from the money raised from their art.
Students will help write descriptions for their artistic creations and the art will be posted for sale either in a "store" or on an auction site on the Internet! Then the kids will track their sales for a little math practice. Some pieces will be available for sale at our End of Year Celebration.
All materials and supplies purchased and provided by the teacher.
