Family Workshops

Field Days

Family field days are designed to promote experiential learning. This hands-on approach takes students into different environments to learn by doing. Families are invited on these Field days and often enjoy experiencing a familiar area like the beach or the woods in a different way. Younger and older syblings are often enjoy participating in the experiments our instructors offer. Depending on the level of the pod, students may have designed their own project to implement at that location.

Travel Opportunities

Preparatory Academy is designed by administrators who love to explore and learn. We have created family travel opportunities, typically in the summer season, that provide integrated learning experiences with experiential programs. These opportunities bring to life subjects students have been studying and provide a global perspective. Opportunities may be local, National or even international. We offer multi-generational activities and hands on study experiences to get the whole family involved. Students receive academic credit and a chance to add something truly unique to their portfolios.

Workshops

Workshops are somewhere between field days and travel experiences. These multi-day events are designed for all ages to engage families while engaging the student in learning. Workshops are designed to focus on skills and creativity. These are often unique experiences that are not offered every year and are developed by our administrators based on student interest and specialists we have available.
These course offerings have been temporarily suspended, but we hope to offer them again as soon as health officials have agreed it is safe to do so. The health and safety of our students, families and communities are a priority for Preparatory Academy.
