Parents and Guardians
Our parents and guardians have an important role in shaping our community. Our virtual courses are designed to keep our students active in their own learning process. We expect our parents and guardians to be supportive of their student’s interests and want to see them achieve academic growth. We know parents and guardians are people too! We hold clubs and events to help our adults connect and build community.
Parent / Instructor Association
Be an active voice in our school community! Our Parent / Instructor Association has gone virtual. We encourage parents and guardians to participate in our virtual meetings and to help plan community events and activities for the benefit of our students.
Classroom Visits
We welcome parents and guardians to “check in” online during any class time or activity. So our classes can stay student-focused and ensure our students' voices are central to the learning, we request you mute your microphone and turn off video to avoid distracting students.
Clubs
Some clubs, activities and events are open to parents and you are welcome to participate fully in these offerings. We encourage interested parents to host clubs for other parents, students or mixed groups, based on their own interests and availability. We came up with some ideas to get you started: book club, investing club, invited speaker events, photography class, cooking class, and wine or beer tasting club. Using our technology, you can connect with other parents anywhere. The possibilities are endless!
Volunteer Your Expertise
Some schools ask parents and guardians to help fundraising and special events. We go beyond that because we are a community! We believe many parents / guardians have special skills, interests, and knowledge they would enjoy sharing with our students. We ask you to consider volunteering to speak to our students, to teach a skills, to be available to help with a project, and yes to help with fundraising or organizing special events. We want you to be part of our community - and we think you know best how you can do that!
