SCHOOL POLICIES
Technology Requirements and Usage Policy (effective 8/8/2020)
First year students will be issued a Technology Set, included in the first-year fees, which they will use for classes and assignments. This set will include:
Students will connect to the Internet for virtual classes, so they should have access to a strong Internet signal.
Preparatory Academy assumes no responsibility for any phone charges, line costs, or usage fees for connectivity to the Internet.
Acceptable Use Policy
Internet access is required for all Preparatory Academy students, and students must use the Internet in a responsible, safe, ethical, and legal manner. Expanded access to electronic information increases the likelihood of encountering inappropriate material. Some sites contain illegal, slanderous, inaccurate, or offensive information. Although it is impossible to eliminate such misuses, we believe that when students use their access responsibly, the benefits of the Internet as an educational tool outweigh the negatives.
As part of the fist week’s assignment, we require parents/guardians/school staff/students to complete an Internet safety class. Then, we will partner with parents to teach responsible Internet use.
Preparatory Academy, Inc administrators will cooperate fully with local, state, or federal officials in any investigation related to any illegal activities conducted through Internet access. In the event there is a claim that you have violated this policy, you will be provided with notice of the suspected violation and have an opportunity to present an explanation. Any violations by the student or parent/guardian may result in removal from Preparatory Academy courses, as well as other disciplinary or legal action.
Please review the following expectations carefully:
